Staff and faculty who have had the opportunity to take students on service-related trips presented on the influence of these trips in helping students gain knowledge and develop skills related to community building. Paul Mintner from the Center for Student Involvement and Leadership spoke about an Alternative Spring Break trip to Memphis, Tennessee where students learned about community issues in Memphis, completed various service projects, and reflected on their experience. Please click here for a pdf of Paul’s presentation. Stacy Narcotta-Welp from the Pomerantz Career Center presented on a spring-break service trip to Xicotepec, Mexico, a collaboration with Rotary International. Students had the opportunity to work collaboratively to complete projects and develop global leadership skills.
