Staff members from Academic Support & Retention facilitated a discussion regarding “reframing” retention using the 4 Ps approach created at DePaul University. The approach presents a strategic framework to refocus retention efforts, starting with better understanding the profile of students admitted to the university, exploring ways in which we can facilitate students’ progress toward to degree, addressing and improving institutional processes that impact the student experience, and ensuring that students’ experiences – both in and out of the classroom – fulfill the university’s promise and commitment to their educational experiences.
